Costa Fortuna
Costa Fortuna has drawn inspiration from the grand Italian steamships of yesteryear that provided regular passenger services between Italy and the Americas. Throughout this Costa cruise ship, scale models of historic cruise ships have been incorporated into the style and design of the Costa Fortuna’s various restaurants and other public areas. For more recent history of these cruise ships, guests can view a tribute to the first (and leading) Italian Cruise Company by glancing up at the ceiling of the main lobby known as the Costa Atrium where models of 26 past members of the Costa fleet are displayed. Air Travel
Passports will be required for any air travel from the Caribbean as of January 23, 2007. ALL persons, including U.S. citizens, traveling by air between the United States and Canada, Mexico and South America, the Caribbean and Bermuda will be required to present a valid passport. Cruise Travel
As early as January 1st, 2008, subject to U.S. Government amendment, ALL persons, including U.S. citizens, traveling between the United States and Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, the Caribbean and Bermuda may be required to present a valid passport or other documents as determined by the Department of Homeland Security. Please visit the U.S. State Dept. website at www.travel.state.gov for more information. Because of the new requirements, guests are encouraged to obtain passports as soon as possible to avoid backlogs.
For guests on itineraries visiting Russia and Ukraine, who wish to tour independently in these countries (not on a Celebrity shore excursion) will need to obtain a VISA from the respective embassy/consulate prior to travel.
All United States citizens traveling to Brazil must obtain a valid VISA from the Brazilian consulate or embassy prior to boarding the cruise.
Please note that additional restrictions and requirements may exist for entrance into other countries. You are advised to check with local embassies and consulates for their requirements.

C R U I S I N G T I P S
- Reconfirm your airline reservation and flight departure time 24 hours prior to leaving home. If, on the day of sailing, you find that your flight will be delayed beyond your ship’s departure time, please contact Costa Cruises.
- You can sign up for shore excursions prior to setting sail up to one week in advance on Costa’s website. Since most shore excursions fill up fast, registering online can help guarantee you can participate in the excursions you want.
- A lot of luggage looks the same. Attach a colored ribbon to each of your bags to make them easier to find.
- When packing clothing attire, keep in mind that most of the time you’ll feel comfortable in casual resort wear including light cotton clothing. Tennis or low-heeled walking shoes are recommended for exploring ports of call. For Northern Europe sailings, sweaters, lightweight jackets and raincoats are appropriate. On formal nights, ladies may wear evening gowns or Shabbat dresses; gentlemen may choose dark suits or tuxedos. On other evenings, gentlemen generally wear sport coats and slacks, while ladies wear resort attire. There are laundry and valet services available onboard for a nominal fee, so don’t bring more than you need.
- When you arrive at the cruise terminal, keep your cruise documents handy in your carry-on bag. When checking in, you will need to present your cruise documents, along with your proof of citizenship and completed Passenger Declaration Form to the Costa reception desk.
- Soon after you have boarded the ship is a good time to book your favorite spa treatment as the most popular ones fill up fast.
- During your cruise, the ship will offer seminars highlighting the attractions and shopping at each port. Typically these seminars are offered the day before arriving at each destination. Plan to attend these meetings to educate yourself on the destination and its sightseeing opportunities.
